IECEx Certified Fibre Test Lasers

Do you work in a hazardous zone?  Underground coal mine?  Oil and Gas industry?  Platform?  Grain silo?

When you use fibre optics in your automation and control, or in communications, find a break or a damaged fibre can be a nightmare.  Taking an OTDR into the zone is often dangerous.  Using a cheap non-Certified fibre tester requires special excemptions and lots of paperwork.

The FLXS-635 fibre test systems are intrinisically safe, IECEx Certified simple laser based fibre testers.  The FLXS-635 laser product  will show red laser scatter from a break or an inefficient join, or provide cable recognition form one end to the other quickly and safely.

FLXS-635-ST

The FLXS-635-ST fibre optic tester is an IECEx Certified ST-fibre coupled laser unit that is Certified for use in underground coal mining and in the oil/gas sector.  The device provides a go/no-go for a no-break fibre, and provides illuminated scattering of the laser either at a break in the fibre of at a poor junction.

The FLXS-635-SC fibre optic tester is an IECEx Certified SC-fibre coupled laser unit that is Certified for use in underground coal mining and in the oil/gas sector.  The device provides a go/no-go for a no-break fibre, and provides illuminated scattering of the laser either at a break in the fibre of at a poor junction.

NEW LEATHER BELT/CARRY POUCHES

Transport of the FLXS635-ST fibre test lasers around site is accommodated using these nifty leather carry pouches.  The carry pouches are highly visible with reflective tape, and have a loop carry handle as well as a tough belt clip.

The carry pouches protect the laser product from damage, and allow the product to be transported hands-free around site.

Multi-fibre systems

Consider a special system for those multi-fibre installations.  the FLXS-635 system include a standard 3kHz tickle modulation applied to the continuous laser output.

For custom applications, the frequency of the laser modulation can be modified in the factory to provide differential pulse signatures to provide easy discrimination and testing of multi-fibre installations.
